This was the most cloudy day in this summer. I would need some sunshine… May I share with you some inspirational photographs published in the 1994 December Issue of Vogue US by Arthur Elgort. The editorial features Claudia Schiffer in a shoot around Rome, inspired by the famous movie Roman Holiday starring Audrey Hepburn. Claudia makes the pictures look effortless and realistic, they are perfect holiday snapshots.
The message of resort dressing is pretty and simple – featuring body-conscious clothes in deliciously fresh sorbet shades soft, baby blues and pinks, sweet yellows and whites. The styling matches the original movie. All of the outfits have a 50’s vibe, yet they remain clean and simple which is one of the characteristics of 90’s fashion. “Played out against the backdrop of Rome’s sun-dappled scenery, these styles – from bustier dresses to soft cardigans – embody a look that’s as classic as Eternal City itself.”
I love how the photographer Arthur Elgort combined the atmosphere of Rome, with all of his majestic old architecture and art, and the happy smiles of Claudia. These photo’s made me want to visit Rome very soon.
