The Brazilian Fashion designer Carlos Miele has presented the spring 2013 collection at the New York Fashion Week.

“I wanted to create a hallucination jungle,” the designer said before his show. Lightness in the jungle’s tropical heat was important, so he incorporated movement into his looks, using lots of chiffon and borders of fringe. A giraffe print in phosphate blue, a tiger skin in oxidized yellow, assuming unexpected soft, flowing forms – Miele explores the idea of mutation, with dense, hybrid patterns that suspend the imagination.

His latest collection features elegant pieces, bold color combinations, plenty of animal prints, flowing chiffon gowns, silk dresses, giraffe, leopard, and zebra patterns, low backs, and long hemlines. The designer also uses “materials for recycling” such as plastic and soft drinks bottles. With his cheerful design and love for vivid colors, Carlos Miele is fast becoming an American favorite as a fashion designer.

His celebrity fans are: Naomi Campbell, Christina Aguilera, Penelope Cruz, Alicia Keys, Sarah Jessica Parker, Camilla Belle and Karolina Kurkova.
