Below, I’ve created a series of outfits inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s Spring/Summer 2013 line that you can use for ideas for everyday wear!

This collection conjures images of the fashionable politician’s wife desperately trying to get out of the rut of wearing modest skirt and pantsuits to every public event. De la Renta’s Spring offerings provide this woman, suffering from sartorial ennui with lively, yet “politically correct” looks.

Daywear was a relative term here, considering all the lavish embellishment. Then, for evening an array of stunners, from a swank black-and-white column slit to there to a strapless, tea-length style done in layers of aquamarine tulle and embroidered with cherry blossoms in pink feathers.

De la Renta was just having a little fun with a collection that was otherwise purely pretty and wonderfully grand.
